About this scholarship

One fully funded Ph.D. position is available in Spring/Fall at the University of Maine's GENIUS Laboratory under Prof. Ayesha Siddique's supervision, focusing on Explainable AI Guided Hardware Acceleration using approximate computing techniques. Successful candidates will serve as Research or Teaching Assistants and receive a complete tuition waiver plus health insurance benefits. The research project builds on the lab's ongoing work in energy-efficient hardware acceleration of explainable AI, combining expertise in AI/ML, hardware design, and approximate computing. Candidates with strong backgrounds in LLMs, reinforcement learning, graph theory, dynamic programming, and optimization techniques are especially encouraged to apply.

Eligibility

B.Sc/M.Sc. holders with computer science/engineering major; knowledge of AI/ML required; strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python; priority given to candidates with research experience in LLMs and reinforcement learning; students already in the US given first priority
