PhD Positions in Aerodynamics and Wind Energy
Queens University, Mechanical and Materials Engineering Department
About this scholarship
The Aerodynamics and Wind Energy Lab at Queens University invites PhD applicants to conduct cutting-edge research in renewable energy and aerodynamics. The lab specializes in experimental fluid mechanics using advanced measurement techniques (PIV and PTV) to study flow physics of individual components and fully integrated systems. Two primary research themes are available: investigating airfoil boundary layer dynamics for low Reynolds number applications (small-scale wind turbines, low-speed aircraft), and developing physics-informed flow control methods for separation control and stall mitigation on wind turbine blades. This position offers opportunities to contribute to advancing wind energy and fuel-saving technologies through rigorous scientific investigation.
Eligibility
Candidates with completed or near-completed MASc or MEng in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Must be talented and highly motivated with interest in aerodynamics, wind energy, or renewable energy research.
