Dental Therapist

Responsibilities: Clinical Duties: Perform preventive dental procedures, including scaling, polishing, fluoride application, and sealants. Provide basic restorative care such as temporary fillings, atraumatic restorative treatment (ART), and simple extractions (as allowed by Nigerian regulations). Conduct thorough oral examinations and charting; document findings accurately. Assist dentists during complex procedures such as root canals, extractions, oral surgeries, and orthodontic treatments. Take and process digital radiographs (intraoral sensors, OPG/CBCT referrals). Perform dental impressions (conventional and digital if trained). Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials according to infection control standards. Monitor patient comfort, safety, and vital signs during clinical care.
