About this scholarship
Responsibilities: Assist in food preparation, including washing, cutting, and portioning ingredients. Cook menu items according to recipes and kitchen standards. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations. Ensure proper food handling, storage, and hygiene practices. Assist the chef during busy service periods. Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and preparation areas. Monitor food supplies and report low stock or shortages. Ensure compliance with health and food safety regulations. Requirements: Previous experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen is an advantage. Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques. Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards. Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Good teamwork and communication skills. Ability to follow instructions from the chef or kitchen supervisor. Physical stamina to stand for long hours and handle kitchen tasks. Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
