About this scholarship
Responsibilities: Develop crop production plans and planting schedules. Select appropriate crop varieties based on soil type, climate, and farm objectives. Plan and manage fertilizer programs, irrigation schedules, and pest management strategies. Supervise field operations, including land preparation, planting, spraying, irrigation, and harvesting. Ensure field workers follow proper agronomic procedures and farm SOPs. Monitor crop growth stages and field performance and adjust practices when required. Conduct soil assessments and recommend soil improvement strategies. Develop and implement soil nutrition and fertilization programs. Monitor crop health and identify nutrient deficiencies, pests, diseases, or weed issues. Recommend and oversee appropriate pest, disease, and weed control measures.
